Netflix’s rap competition series Rhythm + Flow produced more than “the next hip hop superstar” — it also introduced two sapphic rappers who are still together, six years after meeting each other on set.
Rappers Savannah Hannah and Maddie Mook met while filming Season 1 of Rhythm + Flow back in 2019, a love story that just went viral after being featured on Meet Cutes NYC. The account asks couples on the street for the story of how they met, and when it encountered Hannah and Mook out on a walk together, they were more than happy to share.
“We did a Netflix show! We were rapping, competing against each other, on Rhythm + Flow,” Hannah explained in the video, which has already garnered nearly a million views on TikTok in its first 24 hours. “We kept it on the low from the production team because I didn’t want to rap against her. And we ended up going home the same night!”
Rap finds its way into their relationship in unexpected ways, Hannah added: “We rap battle sometimes instead of arguing, because I feel like it’s more healthier,” she said. “We always talking about each other. If she ever does a love song, it’s about me.”

Mother has arrived
The couple also shared their favorite things about one another. “I think her sense of humor is just out of this world,” Hannah said of Mook. “And I feel like with me, I’m a lot, so I was hoping that I wouldn’t weird her out because I have a crazy sense of humor, and she just matches it perfectly.”
And as for what Mook loves about Hannah, she said, “She’s super nurturing. Very high-energy, and I’m pretty chill, so it pulls me out of my box.”
Though both Hannah and Mook are still rappers, they also have their sights set on another goal: running a farm together. “I want a farm, so she said that she gonna get me a farm with some animals,” Hannah shared. “I want a cow. I want every animal you could think of, and I know she’s gonna make that happen for me. Right, baby?”
“Absolutely,” Mook replied.
