This straight guy’s take on why heterosexuality doesn’t make sense is hitting home on TikTok

While straightness is seen as society’s default sexuality, LGBTQ+ folks’ are constantly worried that their love lives will be up for debate. But one straight guy on TikTok thinks the opposite should be true, and he took to TikTok to share his hot take with the world.

“Heterosexuality kinda doesn’t make any sense to me, and I say this as a straight man,” said TikToker Zachary Rants in a video with more than 1.2 million views. “Because like, people will get weirded out by gay relationships, right? Like, old people will say, ‘Oh, who’s the man in this lesbian relationship,’ right? Weird sh*t like that. That never made any sense to me. Because to me, gay relationships make perfect sense.”

According to Zachary, same-gender relationships just make sense in terms of fairness. “You’re a woman. A beautiful angel, gift from god, angel from heaven, right?” he explained. “You have to find someone to match your level, and you’re only gonna find that in another woman.”

On the other hand, says Zachary, where women are angels, men are “fundamentally cave trolls.”

“If you’re a man, you have to find someone to match your disgusting freak,” he continued. “So that’s why you would find another man. That makes sense, right? You’re on the same level, so that makes perfect sense.”

That’s why straight relationships are far stranger than gay ones, Zachary explained: “I’m like a gross cave troll, right, as a man. I have hair in weird places,” he said. “And I get to hang out with this beautiful, amazing sculpted beauty from heaven? What? How does that happen? How did that happen? If it wasn’t for biology, she would not be into me, man. She would not. I don’t have anything going for me on a physical level, okay, as a man.”

To be fair, Zachary’s sexuality may be clouding his judgment. As a straight man, of course he thinks women are far more attractive than men. Gay men and straight women may feel the opposite — but that only speaks to his point that straight folks shouldn’t be so critical of other people’s sexualities.

“Men are icky looking. But you look at a woman — I mean, come on. Have you seen women? Have you seen women, okay? Have you seen women? I mean, I’m just saying,” Zachary continued. “Maybe that’s just my straight coming out there. But I just feel like it’s almost unfair to women that they are attracted to men. Like, that’s brutal.”

Women of various sexualities told Zachary that he’s not alone in his comments section.

“Me being straight is proof sexuality is not a choice,” commiserated one commenter.

“Lmao as a bi woman this is how I feel 90% of the time,” echoed another.

“As a lesbian, I felt that ‘have you seen women??’ I say it all the time,” agreed a third.
