Amid a bout of internet discourse over whether the male characters in Marvel Rivals are undersexualized or oversexualized — or, uh, appropriately sexualized? — the video game surprised players with an update that adds new dimension to the debate.
In the popular fighting game, players can choose their character from a roster of Marvel’s most iconic heroes. And in its recent Season 2 update, some of those heroes got a small makeover: a select group of men had their butts made bigger, including Wolverine, Star-Lord, Mister Fantastic, Moon Knight, and more.
The changes were pointed out by Reddit user Weak-Bodybuilder-419, aka Chris, in a series of comparison posts. They noted that the update buffed not only the men’s butts, but “the lumps between their legs.”
I don’t know why no one talks about this. But they have buffed a lot of men’s butts and the lumps between their legs.

The update comes two months before Pride Month, proving the franchise’s year-round commitment to queer representation.
The changes are subtle — so subtle, in fact, that another user asked Chris how they even figured this out. “Well, I was looking for this specifically because I’m attracted to handsome men,” they explained. Understandable!

Players — particularly gaymers — celebrated the update across social media. “the devs ARE listening 😭🙏,” one user wrote.
Of course, the men of Marvel Rivals are still woefully undercaked (caked down?) compared to the game’s women. All fans are asking for is a little gender equality: give these superpowered men the comic-accurate butts they deserve!
