Azealia Banks is nothing if not confusing.
On Monday, the “212” rapper revealed in a lengthy post that she planned to vote for Kamala Harris, despite calling her “stupid and incoherent” and calling her running mate Tim Walz “trash” in the same breath. Her motivation, she continued, was more about keeping Elon Musk as far away from politics as possible.
“I really think keeping Elon Musk away from any type of political power in the USA is tantamount to any issue on the table here. You have to be a complete idiot to think that dirtbag cares about anyone or anything other than himself,” Banks wrote in her post. “I will be Voting For Kamala Harris tomorrow because Elon Musk (a f*cking overrated Ketamine addict) belongs no where near American Politics. The End.”

It was a change of tune from previous statements of Banks’, which included saying she’d vote for Trump because he’s “just f*cking funny” and congratulating him on his win in 2016. The internet wasn’t sure what to make of Banks’ face-turn, but hey, a vote for Harris is a vote for Harris — or so it seemed.
Come the morning after election day, Banks seemed to have changed her mind again, sharing a picture of a ballot filled out in favor of Trump. “Lmao I lied, I voted for Trump yesterday,” she wrote.

Folks across the internet didn’t take kindly to Banks’ backpedaling, hoping that this could be the nail in the coffin of Banks’ controversial career — or at the very least, keep her out of LGBTQ+ spaces moving forward.
With so much flip-flopping, Banks’ true political affiliations are difficult to discern. Apparently, Harris and Walz can be added to her ever growing list of adversaries, which includes everyone from Lil Nas X to Beyoncé to Troye Sivan. Regardless, one thing is for sure: She knows how to keep the internet guessing.
