This OnlyFans-meets-Disney beef is unearthing old drama

You’ll rarely find “Disney” and “OnlyFans” in the same sentence, let alone the same controversy, but a feud between two Wizards of Waverly Place stars is bringing them together in jaw-dropping fashion.

The drama began when David Henrie, who played older brother Justin Russo on the original Disney Channel series and is reprising his role for the reboot Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, was completing a quiz for BuzzFeed Celeb. One question asked him to choose a recurring character from the original show that should guest star in the new series, and Henrie was awestruck at one of the options BuzzFeed included.

After a pointed silence, Henrie chuckled and said, “I can’t believe you guys put one of these people on here. Millennials understand that.”

The option in question seemed to be Zeke Beakerman, played by Dan Benson. (While saying the character’s name, Henrie gave the camera a knowing glance.)

Why would Benson’s presence be unbelievable to Henrie? In the years since being on Disney Channel, Benson’s pursued a wildly different career as an OnlyFans creator — a very successful one, at that.

Benson’s online presence might not be Disney-friendly, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to sit by and take the shade from his former castmate. In fact, he clapped back at Henrie on X, formerly Twitter, writing, “David Henrie can suck my dick. I’ll pay him more than they paid me for Wizards I promise you that.”

Unsurprisingly, Henrie then blocked Benson on X, which Benson fake-cried at in a viral TikTok.

Benson wasn’t the only one who took offense at Henrie’s reaction to the quiz. Folks across social media said his apparent disdain for sex workers was no surprise, with some claiming he holds conservative political values, pointing to his 2018 arrest for bringing a loaded gun to an airport and his starring role in a Ronald Reagan biopic earlier this year. (Others thought Henrie’s choice to draw attention to Benson’s adult content while surrounded by minors was also a strange move.)

Though Benson himself isn’t queer, he’s said in the past that he welcomes and is glad to have gay fans of his content. In a TikTok from this August, he reaffirmed that he’s straight, but still embraces making “adult entertainment for gay men.” The gays certainly aren’t complaining.
