Celebrity lookalike contests have taken over the world, from Jeremy Allen Whites in Chicago to Dev Patels in San Francisco and even Harry Styles(es) in London. New York City has hosted a few, including the inaugural Timotheé Chalamet lookalike contest, where Timmy himself made an appearance, and the latest viral contest, seeking a perfect match for Zayn Malik in Brooklyn.
But the hunt for Malik’s doppelganger ended with a curveball, as one contestant, Selin Ceren, proved you don’t need to be a straight man to go for the gold.
Ceren went viral for getting second place in the contest despite being a lesbian. Regardless of gender and sexuality, her resemblance to Malik (especially in his One Direction era) is uncanny, and her place on the podium is well deserved.
