This gay double proposal at Disneyland is melting the internet’s heart

A video of two men who got engaged at Disneyland in California has gone viral on TikTok.

Samuel Bishop Macías and Javier López headed to the resort for a vacation last weekend. Unbeknownst to each other, they were both carrying engagement rings.

As they stood outside Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Lopez got down on his knee and pulled out his ring. Macías, shocked and amazed, then reached into his own bag and pulled out his own ringbox. They then kissed and placed the rings on each other’s fingers. And, of course… they both said “Yes!”.

Unbeknown to them, a passerby (@jennytuell14) happened to catch the moment on video and posted it to TikTok, with their permission.

The video has over 4.5 million likes and 35,000 comments. Lopez was among those to comment, saying, “Thank you for the video! It was a pleasure meet you! You capture the emotional moment for ever in the correct time! Happily ever after 🙏🥰🫰🏽”

The internet was duly moved.

“The way I’m crying over this double proposal 😭” was just one of the well-liked comments.

Macías also posted several images to his Instagram, along with a message.

“We said yes. Thank you, thank you for choosing me every day, thank you for being the best friend, partner, partner in crime, thank you for wanting to be my life partner and team up together in everything.”

“We have been through so many things together, painful things, uncomfortable, sad things, but most of all many moments of laughter and happiness and love,” he continued. “I love you and I will always love you…No matter what!”

“I had never been to Disney before”

The couple have been together for six years. In a message to INTO, Macías said he and Lopez were surprised their proposals went viral. The first they knew about it was when people came up to them in the park later that same day to tell them they’d seen it on TikTok.

“We plan on getting married next year. We have always wanted to get married on the beach. We have talked about getting married for a while but due to the pandemic and my father passing away, it became very difficult. So this trip was the perfect opportunity.

“I had never been to Disney before (Javier was very very excited with the idea of showing me Disneyland for the first time), so it was a very emotional trip for us. We are both from Mexico so it was quite a great experience!”
