‘The Sandman’s new promo teases an unforgettable family reunion

The family’s all here in The Sandman‘s new teaser.

From the mind of Neil Gaiman to your living room TV screen, The Sandman returns and this time, there are some new faces joining the pack. The popular Netflix series released a teaser to the long-awaited second season, bringing Tom Sturridge back as the titular character. Morpheus aka Dream (Sturridge) is one of several powerful beings called the Endless and now, all of them will come together for the time in season two.

These anthropomorphic entities are simply representations of the natural forces they personify. They also consider themselves family, with each of the seven Endless referring to each other as siblings. However, this family is far from functional, as we’ve seen with the introductions of Dream, Death (Kirby), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), and Despair (Donna Preston) in season one.

Now, to round out this motley crew of entities are Destiny (Adrian Lester), Delirium (Esmé Creed-Miles), and Death aka The Prodigal (Barry Sloane). Each Endless, as their names denotes, oversees a particular force and corresponding realm that they can control. Additionally, the realms all have a “gallery” or symbols and sigils from their siblings, which they can use to contact each other.

However, expanding their family group chat isn’t the only thing we’ll see in the upcoming season. In season one, Dream set out restore his realm’s order, after being held in captivity for 106 years. This ultimately led Dream and his crew to face off against Lucifer’s (Gwendoline Christie) hell-spawn.

Now, the Endless are coming together for more sweet dreams and sickening nightmares. The Sandman, adapted from Gaiman’s comic book of the same name, premiered on the streaming platform in 2022. In 2022, Gaiman and Netflix announced that series had been renewed for season two with a cryptic teaser.

While we don’t have a release date for the second season, the teaser announcement is nothing to sleep on. Check it out below.
