Actor and singer Ben Platt celebrated his 30th birthday on Sunday. Among those to wish him a happy day was his fiancé, fellow performer Noah Galvin, 29.
Galvin posted a series of photos and videos of Platt to his Instagram stories with one simple message. Check them out below.
“Happy birthday to the love of my life. I can’t wait to get married. Its [sic] gonna be sick!”
How sweet is that?
Platt found mainstream success taking on the lead role in the show Dear Evan Hansen (2015-2017). At the age of just 23, he was the youngest person to win a Tony award for ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical’ for his role in the show. He later reprised the character in the movie version.
He has made several other stage appearances since that time and starred in the Netflix show, The Politician. Earlier this year, he and Galvin starred in the movie, Theater Camp.
Galvin is best known for his roles in the sitcom The Real O’Neals, and playing Dr. Asher Wolke in the TV show The Good Doctor. He also followed in Galvin’s footsteps in taking over the lead role in Dear Evan Hansen.
Friends already through their careers and love of musical theater, Galvin and Platt famously spent the first few months of the COVID pandemic living together. It was during this time that their friendship blossomed into a romance.
Platt proposed to Galvin during a night out at a restaurant in Brooklyn in late 2022. In May of this year, Galvin reciprocated the gesture and presented Platt with a ring.
Pulling off a kid’s theater production will be no easy feat, but it will be one that’s full of laughs and campy shenanigans.
