Zane Phillips‘ revealed his secret asset and now the internet wants him to play a Disney god.
At the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, the Glamorous star stopped by the ceremony’s purple carpet to dish about the ceremony and chat about a particular fan-cast circulating around the internet. The 30-year-old’s Adonis-like frame and acting talents have the internet eyeing for the role of Disney’s live-action rendition of Hercules. However, muscles and acting chops won’t be enough to go from “Zero to Hero” as the Roman god, as some singing talent is needed to carry those musical numbers.

But Phillips isn’t shying away from the challenge and he’s noticed the fans cries for him to play the beefy demigod.
“I won’t say I haven’t,” Phillips said on the purple carpet in response to the fans casting him as Hercules.
That’s when Phillips let the world in on a secret: he can sing. The Fire Island star has a musical theater background, like many card-carrying members of the LGBTQ+ community. Not to mention, he’s already performed Hercules‘ famous solo “Go the Distance” live.
“I would love to do it. Honestly, listen… it’s so funny, like, I have a musical theater background. I’ve sung that song in a weird, random cabaret before,” Phillips said, referring to the “Go the Distance“ musical number. “Yeah, I love that movie.”

Fans, of course, flocked to Phillips’ comments and are desperately wanting him to play Hercules.
Now, we just have to cast the remaining Hercules characters. Fans have their eyes on Ariana Grande and Liz Gillies for Meg, Steve Buscemi and Jennifer Coolidge (can’t you see it?) as Hades, and Danny DeVito as the satyr Phil (who also voiced the character in the animated film). Oh, and Jennifer Hudson, Cynthia Erivo, Keke Palmer, Amber Riley and Lizzo as the Muses? Sign us up!
Disney, the ball is in your court.
